What is a CKYC number

CKYC (Central Know Your Customer) is a centralised KYC database maintained by CERSAI. Financial institutions regulated by SEBI, RBI, IRDAI and PFRDA upload customer KYC details to this repository.

If you have completed KYC with any financial institution, you will have been assigned a CKYC number. During the Zerodha Capital sign-up process, you may be asked to provide it so that your KYC details can be verified.

Why an update takes up to 72 hours

Any KYC update made by a financial institution such as Zerodha Capital is uploaded to CKYC, and it can take up to 72 hours for the change to reflect in the system.
